Calandria Agate Specimens

The Calandria agates found near the village of Matachic in Western Chihuahua. They have gentle colors and fine banding. Like the agates from Patagonia or Arizona the Calandria agates of Mexico are worthy of the attention of collectors for their subtle beauty.

Calandria agates were first discovered in the 1960's but it is only during the last three years that they have been actively mined. They have become more available and the quality has also gotten better each year. The agates offered here are from this year's (2012) production.
