Bull Canyon Moss Agate Slabs
Bull Canyon, near Carson City, Nevada, is the source of this fine Moss Agate. I bought these slabs in the eighties when my focus was on cab cutting. Shortly after that I moved back east to Gloucester, Massachusetts, and I soon discovered that there was little interest in ‘picture cabochons’ out there. The demand was for tourmalines and lapis and other boring stuff, boring to me anyway. The good thing is that these slabs were spared and now they can be preserved as part of the history of west coast gemstone mining. Even when I bought these slabs they were in the category of material that would not be seen again due to the exhaustion of the deposit and came either from miners or old collections.
